Why is this better than organizing my projects in folders?
There's no easy way to keep track of a song you were working on weeks ago, or which version was actually submitted for release. Advanced folder management and tagging in Prolific lets you organize projects by genre, bpm, key, mood, and more. This makes it easy to find and group related projects, something that's much harder with traditional folder structures.
Why not just use Trello, Google Sheets, Apple Notes etc?
While these are great general-purpose tools, they're not tailored for music production. Prolific offers features specific to music creation, such as BPM and key tracking, integration with DAWs, and custom fields relevant to music projects. This specialized approach streamlines your workflow in ways general tools can't match.
What operating systems do you support?
Prolific currently supports macOS (10.14+). Windows support is planned for the future. We're constantly working on expanding our compatibility to ensure as many producers as possible can benefit from our tool.
Does Prolific store any of your song data on its servers?
No, Prolific does not store any of your audio files or project data on our servers. All your information is kept locally on your computer, ensuring your work remains private and under your control.
What about browser support?
Prolific is a desktop application, not a web app, so browser support isn't applicable. However, our desktop app is built on modern web technologies, ensuring a smooth, responsive experience similar to what you'd expect from a high-quality web application.
